Function Room Hire in Coventry

The Coventry SQ Club has two functions rooms and a games room, all 3 rooms have a licensed bar and are available to hire. The downstairs function room has a 120 capacity and the upstairs room has a 250 capacity. The cosy layout of the downstairs room makes it easy to create a good atmosphere with a small group size. The upstairs room has a wooden dancefloor, raised stage, and moveble tables and seats, making it well suited to large parties or sit down eating events.

The standard rate to hire a function room is usually £50* and a £200 the damage deposit. The hire fee is for barstaff and cleaning costs.

You can organise our own catering and DJ or we can organise catering and music for you.**

We have wedding reception packages and birthday party packages available and these represent excellent value for a comprehensive entertainment package. If you want to play your own music mix, we have our own DJ equipment that you can hire for a small fee to use with your CDs, Ipod or laptop.

The venue has a free car park for 20 cars and there are two large pay and display car parks within a few metres of the venue with low cost parking in the evenings.  If you prefer to take a taxi, there is a taxi rank very near the venue and the barstaff will call a taxi for you on request.

Giving driving directions to your guests is simple, just give them the website address or a link to the map and directions page on this website.

You care welcome to pop into the club one evening to see the rooms and discuss the options, the venue is open from Thurday to Sunday. 

If you would like to see the large upstairs function room during a party to get a feel for how it looks during an event we have a salsa night in on Thursdays with classes from 8pm to 10pm and dancing with disco lighting from 10.30pm to 11.30pm

** For large events we recommend having a professional DJ who can select and mix tracks according to the vibe in the room and keep the energy levels high. PDoing the music yourself can result in an empty dancefloor event if you get it wrong. 

Thursdays: Salsa Classes in Coventry

Beginners salsa classes in Coventry every week at 8pm in the main function room upstairs in the Coventry SQ club.

We typically get a broad age range at the SQ Club Salsa classes in coventry.

The salsa classes in coventry from 8pm to 10pm are followed by salsa dancing from 10pm to 11.30pm. There is no need to bring a dance partner, we rotate partners during the classes, or you can stay with one partner if you prefer. The music mix and salsa dancing after the classes is free and anyone can come along to socialise or dance, whether they know how to dance salsa or not.
 

We play a salsa DJ set from 10pm to 11.30pm with a wide ranging mixture of modern and classic tracks.

This salsa night in Coventry runs almost every week of the year, with occasional breaks such as xmas or summer holidays.

We teach cross body style salsa classes with some Cuban style salsa, Rueda de Casino, Bachata and Merengue thrown into the mix to provide a good coverage of the many salsa styles. 

Please arrive on time for the salsa classes in Coventry to enable the teachers to keep to the schedule and ensure there is plenty of time available for salsa dancing after the classes.

After the salsa classes we play a mixture of classic salsa and vibrant modern Latin music with a twist of regaetton and bachata.

The main downstairs bar has snooker, pool and darts.
